Head out on your very own tasting tour of town. We asked founder of Brum Beer Babs, Catherine, for her brew-based recs and where to find them. BTW the next BBB-shaped meet-up is October 25 — you should go.

Orval by Brasserie d'Orval - 6.2% (at Cherry Red's)
A classic Trappist ale with farmhouse flavour, balanced with a little sweetness. Cherry's has a strong selection of Belgian beers, as well as some from closer to home.

Sur Sorachi Ace by ToØl - 6.0% (at Tilt)
This beer has a great citrus taste followed by a smooth coconut finish delivered by Sorachi Ace, which is our lovely Catherine's favourite hop.

Coconut Porter by Burning Soul - 7.0% (Burning Soul taproom)
A JQ-based local brewery, this is a rich, smooth porter with just the right amount of coconut.

Socks 'n' Sandals by Lervig/War Pigs - 4.5% (at The Wolf)
A dry hopped American Pale Ale. Very hoppy aroma with a slight bitterness and a good, dry finish. Pairing with meat and/or cheese is actively encouraged.

Export India Porter by Little Earth Project - 6.4% (at ClinkA brewery specialising in historical, farmhouse and sour beers, this is an easy-drinking porter with a distinct, fruity, red wine flavour. One to sip.

Drink in Berliner Yuzu by Mikkeller - 2.7% can (at Cotteridge Wines)
Don't be fooled by the low abv, this beer packs a big citrus punch. Tastes like a sour, traditional lemonade.
