Notes on... No. 8 Waterloo Street Apartments

We're almost constantly asked to recommend a bed for the night to friends, colleagues and friends who are colleagues — we don't make the rules. So we thought we'd tell the lot of you about a city centre newbie, all at the same time.

No 8 Waterloo Street opened within the ever so pretty Grade II Art Deco building which previously housed the Legal and General Assurance Society. To be found within a pebble's toss of Adam's, Fumo and the CBD at large, the location is about as good as it gets, as is the standard of accomodation compared to other Birmingham serviced apartments.

Each of the 31 miniature homes (with one or two bedrooms) has been individually styled, with furniture which feels good as well as looking good. In terms of what unites all the peaceful feeling spaces, think hypoallergenic bedding, small but perfectly formed kitchens including Frankie inset sinks, White Company accoutrement and the sort of rain shower you're going to spend a lot more time in than is even vaguely necessary. An immediate addition to the rather conservative list of accommodation we would recommend.

Apartments start from £140, rising to £295. Book
