September 19, 2017 New & Nurtured September 19, 2017/ Laurie Prescott The Rep’s programme of shows celebrating work created by local artists, New & Nurtured, is underway. Here are the six productions that have been handpicked for the season. Starting this Thursday, A Dangerous Woman is the story of a woman trying to carve her path in life. Written by Manjeet Mann. A ‘mix of high-energy physical theatre’, Freeman explores the relationship between people of colour and the justice system. Baby Daddy is a lolzy, musical look at motherhood and sexuality for a single mom in her twenties, written by Elinor Coleman. I Knew You is the second play by Birmingham’s own Steven Camden (Polarbear). It’s a coming of age story looking at family dynamics. Sound design is central to Delightful. Written by Olivia Winteringham, it looks at memory, mental health, love and loss. (sorry) by Susie Sillett is a trilogy of monologues from a millennial on her most pressing concerns: work, friendships and the apocalypse.
