Your Local Athleisure Centre

Wearing stretchy gym clothes to workout is expected, but carrying that level of comfy over to as many other engagements as possible is a personal life goal. We're not talking an old hoodie and some baggy Primark leggings here. Athleisure is the enduring cool casj, so I headed to the outlets at Resorts World to mooch their bargains and help us all channel ‘Celebrity Avoiding Paparazzi At The Airport’ Chic.

Tops of the Tops

Logo emblazoned tops are never not having a moment and a classic Gap tee (was £18.99 now £9.49) in grey marl earns you top marks in laidback cool fash. The Nike ochre body (was £37.95 now £26) might not be suitable for anything too strenuous but it sure fulfils the leisure part of athleisure. More goodness from New Balance in the form of this cropped zip up jacket (was £95 now £47) in navy blue. It's got breathable mesh sections and would pair nicely with leggings or skinny jeans. For underneath, this white racer back crop top also from Nike (was £29.95 now £22) is form-fitting and comfortable as heck.

Can I kick it?

There are so many covetable sneaks in New Balance right now it’s difficult to pick just one pair. So here are two. The muted mauve and blue trainers (top left) were £80 and are now £40. But if you’re after a more conspicuous look, the fresh neon orange 247s (were £80 now £40) will add a jolt of summery zing to the most colourless outfits. The either awesome or ridiculously named Epic React Flyknits from Nike (were £129.95, now £79) are functional as well as fashionable. Apparently, as your foot lands, the lining of the shoe snaps back and puts back more energy than you put in. Advertising hyperbole? Maybe. But they sure look pretty. And if you’re really not planning on going within 200m of an actual gymnasium, these Carvela black high tops (were £69 now £49) elevate any look to sportsluxe territory.

Elastic Fantastic

One of the founding tenets of athleisure is that the waist-band must be elasticated. The purple New Balance offering (were £85 now £59) are high-waisted for added comf-factor. Comfactor? Comfactor™. Gap are the Queens of comfy casj and these knitted joggers £29.99 now £14.99 are no different. If you're feeling more active, these patterned blue and white leggings are also from Gap and also reduced to £14.99 from £29.99. If you like your athleisure a bit more showy, this pair from Nike are cool and colour blocked with blue, brown and pink (were £64.95 now £45).

Resorts World is hosting the Feel Good Weekender this very weekend. Pre-register for discounts including 20% off at New Balance or bargain £5 yoga classes with Yoga Sweat.
